Atul started his career working as a theatre artist. Being a passionate person, he used to take part in school activities. While his first stint with the stage was during his high school days and also, he participated in the Maharashtra State Drama Competition.
Atul acted in a play named “Gandhi Viruddh Gandhi” which was made by a famed Dilip Prabhavalkar at Marathi theatre in the 90s.
