Family, Early Life and Education

Dilip Joshi was born on 26 May 1968 in Gosa village of Porbandar, Gujarat. He has completed B.Com from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. He was awarded the INT (Indian National Theatre) Best Actor Award twice during college.

In 1987, he married Jayamala. They have a daughter Niyati and a son Ritvik.

Dilip Joshi Career

Dilip Joshi started his acting career in the year 1989 with the film “Maine Pyaar Kiya”, in which he played the character of Ramu. After this he has also worked in many other films like Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994), Yash (1996), Sir Aankhen Par (1998), Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani (2000).

In 1995, she made her television debut with the TV serial Kabhi Yeh Kabhi Woh. After that he worked in many television serials like Yeh Duniya Hai Rangoon, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Meri Biwi Wonderful, Sevalal Mevalal etc.

The biggest turning point in his career came when he was signed for the role of Jethalal Gadha in the television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in the year 2008. The show has been airing continuously since 2008. For his performance in the show, he received several accolades including 5 Telly Awards and 2 ITA Awards.
