Family, Early Life and Education
Kapil Sharma was born on 2 April 1981 in Amritsar, Punjab. His father was a head constable in the police department who died of cancer in 2004, his mother Janakrani is a homemaker.
Kapil married girlfriend Ginni Chatrath on 12 December 2018 in Jalandhar.
Kapil Sharma Career
Kapil Sharma started his career in the field of entertainment with MH1’s comedy show ‘Hansade Hansade Rao’. He got his first big break in the form of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’. This was his ninth reality television show which he won. He gave his first audition for season 3 in Amritsar but then he was rejected. He wanted to take part in it and went to Delhi for re-audition where he got selected and became the winner in 2007 in which he won 10 lakhs as prize money. After this he participated in Comedy Circus to be aired on Sony TV.
In 2008, Kapil participated in ‘Ustadon Ka Ustad’. He also hosted the sixth season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and has been seen in different seasons of Bigg Boss. He has also hosted the comedy show Chhote Miyan.
In 2013, Sharma launched his show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ under his banner K9 Productions which was successful. He was also announced as the brand ambassador by the Delhi Election Commission in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. He was supposed to make his film debut with Yash Raj Banner’s film Bank Chor, but he dropped out of the project. He appeared as a guest in the opening episode of season 8 of the Indian television game show Kaun Banega Crorepati. Apart from this, if we talk about Bollywood film career, then Kapil has played the lead role in the comedy film Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon.
