Rashami Desai started her career at the age of 16 with B-grade films. She made her debut in films with the Assamese film Kanyadan, in which she appeared in a small role. After this she appeared in many Hindi, Bhojpuri, and Tamil films.
Rashmi got her first breakthrough on television from the Ravana serial aired on Zee TV. After which in 2008, he worked in a famous serial called Uttaran, in which his character Tapasya is known as an important character.
Talking about her films, in the year 2017 she appeared in the role of Anjali Kapadia in the Gujarati film Superstar.
In the year 2020, she played the character of Saina in the short film Tamas.
